Pop Queen of Crystals

I've only watched snippits of Legend of Korra, but it was enough to develop a character.


This is Nagisa, she doesn't mind if you call her Nag but prefers Gisa, she's a year younger than Korra, but already is known through many kingdoms. She's the pop queen of the crystals, because she uses her earth bending to manipulate the minerals in crystals and gems to turn her concert into a light show. She followed in the dashed dreams of her father, he'd hoped to become a famous singer before he met her mother and had her. She prefered his loose style to her mother's strict disciplin. When she discovered her skills with crystals, it was obvious who contributed to her bloodline....Toph, the iron bender. 

Yes, Toph is her grandmother (unless I later discover she specifically says she had no children). Toph and her mother were firm with Gisa, often causing her great mental grief. Her father and his singing were her only sanctuary and soon she found her own voice. When her grandmother disapproved, Nagisa ran away. The only way her family knew she was alright were from posters for her concerts. 

Nagisa is as bubbly as Aang was, she wants to play and is a nice distraction sometimes from the serious issues the group has to deal with. She's definitely not a fighter and is very self conscious about her timid nature. She wants to be as strong and brave as her friends, but when even a bug sends her into a blind panic, it's hard to push that image. She's also self conscious about the relationships of her friends and the fact that she's single. Sure, being a star does mean guys are after you, but often they aren't guys you WANT after you.

She doesn't boast about her status like most celebrities, and she does try to flirt. However these don't go very far when either her cover is blown, or they think she has a mild obsession with her own fire ferret. When she sees her friends enjoying their relationships it makes her jealous, but above all it makes her feel like she doesn't belong with them either. 

When pushed to fight, she's handy with her razor sharp crystals. I envisioned her being pitted against the blood bender, she feels powerless to help and even moreso to fight, until she remembers one key fact. Blood is full of iron. She pulls deep from places she never knew she had and bends the iron in her foes' blood. This makes it appear that she can blood bend herself, but it's slightly different because she's not controlling the entire amount of blood, so her foe can move a bit more. 

The more iron in the blood, the more she can control. She can even control her own iron, creating iron plating on her skin or weapons from her fingers. This technique is for emergencies only, since this causes iron to come OUT of her body, this leaves gashes and scratches all over. She may have won the battle, but she'll end up in just as much pain as she inflicted.
